A square with the corners rounded off and a 54 mm lens - the largest we make - on a slightly heavier 1.4 mm wire so it holds its shape. Spring hinges let the temples open past straight, which suits a wide head and survives being pulled off one-handed.
The larger the lens, the thicker its edge will be for a given prescription; above about -4.00 ask your optician about a higher-index lens or the edge will be visible. Spring hinges contain a small coil that can, rarely, tire after years of one-handed removal; that is covered by the guarantee.

Care. Rinse, wash, dry with the cloth. A drop of light oil on the spring hinge once a year does no harm.
